How did Once Upon a Forest Rabbitry start?
We got two rabbits, Pebbles and Bambam, in 2006, because we thought the idea of having small cuddly animals would be fun. Soon after we got Zoey.
After breeding her, she gave us three little kits. Lucky being one of them.

Baby Pebbles and Bambam!
Pebbles and Bambam Now!!!
August 2012... Pebbles, Bambam and Lucky are still going strong! I'm really going to miss them when their time comes, and I know it's coming soon...
November 2013... Pebbles, Bambam and Lucky are definately slowing down. Although Lucky is a father again!

Something that happened to Pebbles in 2009...
Pebbles has a story. She was attacked by neighborhood dogs, a huskey and a pitbull mix. Two of my rabbits were killed, one being Pebbles' grand-daughter, Mable, and Mable's "sister" (adopted by Pebbles' daughter PJ, who was Mable's mother), Chondell. Although those two were lost, we had three rabbits that were attacked but alive, and still living pretty well.
Three were injured. Pebbles, her daughter PJ and Cinnamon. PJ and Cinnamon had the worst injuries, but the most they had were removed toes and claws. Pebbles only had claws that wes removed, and if toes were removed by the dogs, she was healing fine. Pebbles and PJ could have been in the same situation as Chondell and Mable, they were in the same kind of cage and they were right next to them. You'd wonder how Cinnamon fits in this, her cage being different and away from them. Mable and Chondell were found out of their cages. Mable in the front of the pen, Chondell in the back, right next to Cinnamon's cage.
At first we thought it was a fox attack, little did we know, it was neighborhood dogs. We knew the people who owned the dogs, we knew one of the dogs has killed rabbits before, but we thought they had some humanity to come and tell us they're dogs were in our yard... In our rabbit pen.
How did we find out?
Neighbors who saw them take the dogs out of our pen, put them in the car then walk back to the pen and close it as if nothing happened, told us basically that. When we went to confront the owners, they tried to pretend they had no idea, but the fact that someone saw the dogs get taken out of our yard made them know we knew. They payed for the vet bill of the three who were injured, but it still would have been nice if the owners would have told us.
However there is one thing I want to make clear. The Dogs did what dogs do, I don't blame them. The Owners are the ones that could talk, they didn't. The owners are who to blame.
